My Favorite Covers: The Power of Iron Man TPB (1984)

PKD Media’s “My Favorite Covers” marathon continues!

The adventures of “Mercury & The Murd,” “Exo-1 & The Rock Solid Steelbots,” and “Agents of C.O.L.T.“ are in the queue for next week, so if you want to take today to catch up with some of your favorite comics on PKDmedia.com, feel free to do so.

This cover comes from the first ever TPB I received as a child. My Mom saw it in a bookstore and picked it up for me. The Power of Iron Man trade paperback collected the “Demon in a Bottle” storyline and I literally read it until the pages fell out of the binding.

The cover is one of my favorite Bill Sienkiewicz works; it tells a complete story on its own accord. It shows the power, weakness, fall and redemption of Tony Stark as not just Iron Man, but as a human being. A well crafted piece.

The “My Favorite Covers” marathon continues tomorrow! Peace and good times.
