The PKD Black Box

Seeing that this episode will air on Christmas Eve, it’s only fitting that on today’s show we’re going to talk about “What The Dudes Want For Christmas.” I recently was a guest on the Legion of Dudes Christmas podcast (episode 70) , as we talked about some gift ideas for you, that special someone, or that uber-special geek in your life.

The Dudes are back to spread some holiday cheer with special guest Shawn Pryor of the PKD Media Black Box Podcast. We talk all about the gifts we want, recommend and can’t have this Christmas. We also let everyone in on who has been naughty and who has been nice in the eyes of the LOD.

Johnny M has been named Publisher of PKD Media by newly appointed Manager-of-Operations Jason Grice.

“It’ll be Johnny M’s responsibility to make sure that all comics, whether it be print, digital or web-based will be released on time and to help promote PKD Media projects and other matter when it is necessary,” said Grice.  “He’ll also be responsible for networking with digital comic vendors, overseas comic retailers and direct market solicitations when the time arises.”

Johnny M, who is currently scripting a webcomic tentatively called “Phenom” with artist Dean Stahl with work with editorial staff to make sure needs and deadlines are met. He fills the role left behind by former Manager-of-Operations & publisher of PKD Media, Shawn Pryor who has taken the role of President with Action Lab Entertainment.

Before joining PKD Media, Johnny M serves as member and host of the Legion of Dudes/Half-Hour Wasted podcast network. His Publisher duties with PKD Media will still allow him to collaborate and assist the Legion of Dudes/Half-Hour Wasted network.

It’ll be up to Jason Grice & Johnny M to finalize where they see PKD Media going in 2011 as they begin to oversee upcoming projects and work on a firm direction for the company as time moves along.

In a move that was agreed upon Sunday Evening, PKD Media will be merging with the HHWLOD Podcast Network.

The HHWLOD Podcast Network (which officially re-launched their website today http://hhwlod.com ) is known for pop-culture and media centric podcasts such as the long running Half Hour Wasted, The Legion of Dudes, the ever growing Walking Dead TV Podcast, and their newest foray known as Media Minutes.

PKD Media Podcasts such as The PKD Black Box, Tales from the Attic & Carroll Chronicles will be joining the HHWLOD Podcast Network in the near future, and within the foreseeable future PKD comics such as Mercury & The Murd, Agents of C.O.L.T. and a few other web comics in development at PKD Media will be hosted by the HHWLOD site as well, bolstering the amount of entertainment that will be available on the HHWLOD.com website and introducing PKD Media comics and podcasts to an assortment of new listeners.

The PKD Black Box network feed will still remain the same (http://pkdmedia.com/feed/podcast/ ) once the transition to the HHWLOD network is complete, making for a smooth transition.

The entire PKD Media group is proud to join the HHWLOD family, and we look forward to a long-lasting and strong media/business relationship.
